An MSci biology graduate from The University of Sussex, I have a passion for the environment, human rights and social change. Specialising/interested in:• Campaigning, organising and participatory research.

MSci Biology:The University of Sussex | 2015-2019

Key modules included:• Tropical Rainforest field course, (Santa Lucia Co-operative, Ecuador) and Coral Reef Ecology field course (Red Sea). Designing and running full research projects.• Current topics in Biology. Growing an academic audience on Twitter and communicating complex science in layman's terms.• Field Biology and conservation skills including population modelling with use of ArcGIS and statistical analysis in Rstudio.• National and international environmental law and policy. Including rewilding and modern policy agendas such as the COP conferences and CEE Bill in the UK.Masters dissertation: ‘hygienic behaviour and its implications for inclusive fitness theory in the leaf cutter ant Acromyrmex Octospinosis• Interpreted information from a vast range of sources, including academic literature and government documents.




Biochemistry Scientist: Allergy Therapeutics | 2023-Now

Working in an immunology QC lab to deliver timely and accurate completion of biochemistry assays for allergy vaccines. Including:• ELISAs: monoclonal, inhibition and sandwichRegulatory work:• Following SOPs, SAMs, GMP and ALOCA+ principles.• Writing SOPs, CAPAs, NCs and other documentation.Digital and IT skills:• Advanced Microsoft Office (including Excel applications), LIMS, Montrium electronic Quality Management System (eQMS), FMS, TROPOS and various lab and pharmaceutical-based machines.Diversity, inclusion and company culture:• Contributing to wellbeing workshops and taking responsibility for setting up employee networks and working groups for LGBTQ+ people, women, neurodiverse and others.• Empowering colleagues to make positive changes in our workplace.




Comms officer: SEASALT Housing Co-op | 2020-present

An image from the kitchen of SEASALT Student Housing co-op. The first of its kind in the south east of England, this was a project I was heavily involved in from conception to completion.

SEASALT is a housing co-op which means it is managed and run by its tenants. The aim is to provide affordable, democratic and sustainable accommodation for students through local and National campaigning.Fundraising: Secured £335,000+ in ethical funding and finance through Ethex. I helped attract over 100 investors including organisations such as The People’s Postcode Lottery.Copyright skills: running social media and marketing campaigns including graphic design and analytics. Reaching thousands of supporters including MPs and other policy makers.• Featured in local and national news including Novara Media, the BBC and The Argus amongst others. Wrote our press release and build strong relationships with reporters.Running events and workshops such as the first ever national gathering of student housing co-ops at The University of Sussex. Involved in logistics, catering, tech and a media campaign.Development of policy documents: drafting policies & negotiating a lease.Website design: using WordPress, Elementor and HTML/CSS.Clear and concise writing skills: designing educational articles and media.Public speaking: presenting talks and running workshops across the U.K. including at the World Transformed Political festival, architectural conferences and to local authorities.




Communications officer: Brighton and Hove Commuity Land Trust | 2020-present

Push Back Brighton encouraged people to think about the ways we as citizens can play an active role in fighting the housing crisis.

• Organising events such as a People’s Assembly for a Fairer Housing Future and Who Owns Brighton. Featuring high profile guest Leilani Farah, the ex UN special rapporteur on the right to housing and founder of The Shift and Pushback.• Outputting content regularly and swiftly.• Co-drafting and publishing a press release and contacting news desks. Featuring in local and national news.• Answering emails, running zoom sessions and connecting with key stakeholders.• Motivating the team, sharing knowledge and brainstorming ideas.I have been credited with excellent graphic design and engaging use of social media.




Research Assistant: The Laboratory of Apiculture and Social Insects | 2018-2020

Designed a variety of experiments, organised data collection and analysis using RStudio.Field work: such as transect walks, random sampling, exclusion trials, wildflower id, pollinator surveys. and foraging efficiency experiments.Lab skills: Microscopy analysis and id of pollen samples.Attention to detail: Honeybee hive sampling for foulbrood disease.Communication: Working in a small dynamic team. Interacting with the public through wildlife attitude surveys on garden centre visitors.As a result I am co-Author of a published paper regarding the value of bramble as a food source for bees and other pollinators.




Other Skills and interests

• Helped to organise and lead a world challenge expedition to Tanzania aged 15. This involved charity work including constructing a school and culminated in a 4 day ascent of Kilimanjaro.• Good spoken and written French, basic Spanish.• PADI Open Water Diver• NVQ level 2 in spectator safety• The Duke of Edinburgh's Award - Silver level• Keen interest in bouldering, board games, nature and human/LGBTQ+ rights
